Energy infrastructure under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have come under increased attacks in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian aerial assaults have led to power cuts in large parts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to water supplies, per reports from municipal leaders.

Meanwhile, a minor was killed in a different assault in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, based on information from area administrators.

Moscow has escalated assaults on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has requested "substantial measures" from international partners to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but firm measures - from the US, the EU and the major economies - in providing protection systems and implementing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen projectiles struck the country's power systems, labeling such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to fix the damage.

A wave of strikes struck energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people hurt in the attacks on the capital have been hospitalized, per statements from municipal representatives.

Regional authorities said the metropolitan region came under intense attacks overnight. A minor died and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to identify.

National leaders told the media that Russia was intentionally trying to demolish the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were anticipating additional strikes.
